There is an obvious virtue to this milk. It has been concluded that by incorporating turmeric, with the active chemical Curcumin, that there are effects of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer and neuroprotective activities. It is limited though, especially for humans, in it's ability when taken orally and doesn't properly absorb. That's why in this recipe, we have included Fresh ground pepper.(so don't leave it out!:)) Black pepper stimulates the taste buds to tell your stomach to digest! it works with the proteins and other food to increase hydrochloric acid, when this is low we are unable to properly digest and often have gas, irritation, bloat and possible diarrhea or constipation.
Recipe for Golden Milk
Step 1: Turmeric Paste:
1/4 cup of organic turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon of organic ground pepper 1/2 cup of filtered water Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a small a small sauce pan and mix well. Turn the heat to medium high and stir constantly until the mixture is a thick paste. This does not take long so don’t walk away from the pan.
Let this mixture cool and then keep it in a small jar in the fridge. The longer it stays in the fridge the less effective it is so be sure to use it within a few weeks at the longest.
Step 2: Golden Milk
1 cup of organic milk (almond/hemp/coconut are good options) 1 teaspoon of organic coconut oil 1/4 teaspoon or more of turmeric paste Organic honey
Warm mixture in small sauce pan to desired temperature. Or enjoy chilled!:)
